Bounds on the slope and the curvature of the scalar Kπ form factor at zero momentum transfer Abstract We derive and calculate unitarity bounds on the slope and curvature of the strangeness-changing scalar form factor at zero momentum transfer, using low-energy constraints and Watson final state interaction theorem. The results indicate that the curvature is important and should not be neglected in the representation of experimental data. The bounds can be converted also into an allowed region for the constants C r 12 and C r 34 of Chiral Perturbation Theory. Our results are consistent with, but weaker than the predictions made by Jamin, Oller and Pich in a coupled channel dispersion approach based on chi-ral resonance model. We comment on the differences between the two dispersive methods and argue that the unitarity bounds are useful as an independent check involving different sources of information.

We perform a chiral extrapolation of lattice data on the scalar Kπ form factor and the ratio of the kaon and pion decay constants within Chiral Perturbation Theory to two loops. We determine the value of the scalar form factor at zero momentum transfer, at the Callan-Treiman point and at its soft kaon analog as well as its slope. Results are in good agreement with their determination from exper...

We give examples of smooth surfaces with negative first Chern class which are slope unstable with respect to certain polarisations, and so have Kähler classes that do not admit any constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics. We also compare this to the work of Song-Weinkove on the J-flow.

We show that the e + + e − decay of a light scalar boson of mass 1 − 10 MeV may account for the fluxes of 511 keV gamma ray observed by SPI/INTEGRAL. We argue that candidates of such a light scalar boson is one of the string moduli or a scalar partner of the axion in a supersymmetric theory.
